Fewa Lake (Pokhara)

Fewa lake is freshwater lake and is one of the best tourist destinations of Pokhara. It is the second largest lake in Nepal. The lake is atream-fed but the dam regulates the water reserve. The average water depth is about 8.6m and the maximum water depth is about 24m respectively. At one side of the lake, we can get the various recreational facilities such as hotels, resorts, cafes, bars and so on. Whereas, in the lake we can do boating, fishing, swimming, sailing, kayaking, bird watching and enjoy the nature. In the middle of the lake there is one temple named Taal Barahi which is the shrine for the local people and the visitors. We can also view the reflection of the Mount Macchapucchre Range in the calm and fresh water of the lake. Here various species of fish are conserved and we can see the various aquatic vegetation in it. The people residing in this areas are involved in the various tourism business to provide the facilities to the visitors.
